<title>EDPT Hacked</title>
<link>http://www.edpt.org/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=88</link>
<description>Well it certainly has been an interesting month. As you may have guessed, EDPT was recently hacked and compromised the security of the server it was on. As a result I decided that it was time to apply some updates that I had been neglecting for a while.

Since the site had a serious security hole, I decided to recreate the site from scratch and just port the database information into the new settings. Well that was much more difficult than the plan I had in my noggin.

To further complicate matters, I would say the life reared its ugly head, but the issues that I have been dealing with weren't really a bad thing, just time consuming. So the site is currently up and running and I've restored the forums, which is what I believe to be the most arduous task. There is still a lot to be done, but I figure that you would rather see it in a partially working state than that annoying &quot; We'll be back&quot; message. If you encounter any problems, please feel free to e-mail, PM, or post in the forum.

<title>New FASA e-books</title>
<link>http://www.edpt.org/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=78</link>
<description>We're happy to announce the availability of three new FASA eBooks this week:

THE DISCIPLINES SOURCEBOOK FOR EARTHDAWN

Adepts are the heroes of Barsaive, fighting to reclaim and rebuild their Scourge-ravaged land. The magical Disciplines they follow grant them fantastic powers and shape the way they see the world. A warriors sees life as a battlefield, and wields sword and shield with magical brilliance. A troubadour see the world as a tapestry of tales, and uses his magic to spin stories and songs that sway the heart. An archer divides the world into missiles and targets, and powers her bow with her Discipline's magic. Through their Disciplines, adepts forge a bond between the world, powerful magic, and their own innermost selves.

The Adept's Way offers players and gamemasters an inside look at being an adept in Earthdawn. This sourcebook fully describes each of the 15 magical Disciplines most often practiced in Barsaive, from the point of view of an adept of that Discipline. The Adept's Way also includes extensive new rules for using Disciplines in Earthdawn adventures, acquiring multiple Disiplines, and roleplaying suggestions for adepts.

A LAND WHERE ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE!

From the disease-ridden Mist Swamps, home of the great dragon Aban, to the barren Horror-infested Badlands ... from the inferno of Death's Sea, domain of fearsome fire spirits, to the mysterious Wastes, a smoke-enshrouded place of perpetual darkness, the wilds of Barsaive hold lethal dangers for would-be adventurers.

The Earthdawn Survival Guide offers players and gamemasters a detailed look at the hazards of exploration and adventuring in the land of Barsaive. This sourcebook includes first-person accounts of Barsaive's myriad dangers, from the hazards of underground and wilderness expeditions to the dangers of traveling, as well as descriptions of the Badlands, Death's Sea, the Mist Swamps, and the Wastes. The Survival Guide also features an extensive game-information section that includes rules for travel and exploration hazards, first aid and healing, and guidelines for creating a variety of Earthdawn campaigns.

A SHATTERED SOUL

&quot;I no longer know who I am, I have lost my Name, my very self. I know nothing of my past, nor how I came to Kratas, nor how this misfortune befell me. I would like you to help me find out who I am -- and who has done this to me, if you can.&quot;

Someone has stolen the old elf's memory and you have few clues -- some coins, an amulet, and an old map that leads to a treacherous wasteland plagued by the wretched disciples of a terrible Horror. Will you help the old one? Can you solve the mystery -- and live to tell the tale? Beware, for all is not what it seems, and the fate of Barsaive itself may rest in your hands!

Shattered Pattern is an Earthdawn adventure for 6 to 8 characters of any Discipline who have reached the Fifth to Seventh Circles.

Please note: These books are eBook versions of the original Earthdawn game line previously published by FASA Corporation. These are all First Edition supplements. The content of these books has been integrated fully in the Player’s , and Gamemaster’s , and Adventure Compendiums!

<title>New Redbrick Limited website</title>
<link>http://www.edpt.org/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=77</link>
<description>It's been mentioned by us, here and there -- we've been working on a new content management system in the background. Now, the time has come to make the switch and present to you our new Earthdawn web site!

New Redbrick Limited website

The switch involves us moving to a new server, so our services may be unavailable for a short period of time. Unfortunately, you will also need to re-register (sorry) -- your current login won't be valid anymore. Our apologies for any inconvenience; we did our best to migrate as much as we could to the new site.

Until we set up our new online store, the Old Redbrick Limited website will remain available so you can continue to purchase Earthdawn miniatures. If you can't remember this, don't worry! The link on the Products menu will take you to the right place.

Thank you everyone for your support as our web site has grown and changed. Now, with a move to new servers, we are brushing out a few cobwebs and look forward to continuing to provide you with the best online experience we can to support your Earthdawn games.

<title>Nations of Barsaive: Volume 1 Available on PDF</title>
<link>http://www.edpt.org/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=75</link>
<description>Where the Kingdom of Throal is the heart of Barsaive, the center of culture, commerce and knowledge, the endless network of waterways known as the Serpent River is what fuels Barsaive’s trade. The dwarfs united the people of Barsaive and threw off the yoke of oppression; now traders and adventurers from across the land bring prosperity and liberty to every town and village. From the Grand Bazaar of Throal to the loaded cargo boats of the powerful t’skrang trading houses, people of all kinds ply the waters of Barsaive’s mightiest river, risking its dangers for profit or adventure.

But the end of those peaceful days is looming on the horizon, and the nations of Barsaive struggle to survive the great war that seems inevitable. The return of the Therans and the brutal assassination of Throal’s greatest king have thrown the province off-balance and divided the t’skrang houses of the Serpent River. The only heir to the throne, King Neden, turned out to be a hot-headed youth who began his reign with a military assault against the hated Therans. He failed, and soon realized that the Denairastas of Iopos have played a deadly political game to put the dwarf kingdom and the Theran Empire at each other’s throats and Throal’s population on the verge of civil war...

Nations of Barsaive, Volume One offers gamemasters and players an in-depth look at the Kingdom of Throal and the Serpent River. This book features revises and updates the content from the original First Edition supplements Throal: The Dwarf Kingdom and The Serpent River, adding new material to enhance your adventures in the world of Earthdawn.

Requires use of the Earthdawn Player’s and Gamemaster’s Compendiums. Use of the Name-giver’s Compendium, while not required, is recommended.

The Nations of Barsaive, Volume One eBook is available now from DriveThruRPG. Print books will follow soon from our RedBrick storefront.
